Product Information

In optimum conditions:

The Slayer Pro  traps can attract mosquitoes from up to 150 feet away ( 1 1/2 acres max.coverage ).

The Series 4 gas traps
can attract mosquitoes from up to 120 feet ( 1 acre max.coverage ). The Ser 4 non-gas 60ft. The ALPHA trap (indoor/outdoor can attract mosquitoes up to 30 feet ( 0.2 acre max.coverage)

The advanced design features ( for all models ) exploit the sensory signals mosquitoes use to find their prey e.g. light, color, heat, movement, odor, humidity, texture, unaudible sounds, etc.

Catches Asian Tiger mosquitoes and species which carry strains of encephalitis like Ross River Virus, Barmah Forest virus, Dengue fever and West Nile Virus. Also catches biting midges, black flies and sand flies.

How They Work:

The Megacatch Premier had 7 attractants ( the Ultra 8, the Alpha 4 & the Slayer Pro series10). The Slayer series ( similar attractants) is regarded as a major improvement on the Megacatch series. Those attractants lure mosquitoes, sandflies, midges and black flies to the unit. A fan then blows the insects down the unit, and into a Chamber or 'catch bag', where they dehydrate and die (megacatch traps), or alternatively into a 'liquid catch container' where they drown.( Slayer Pro & Ser 4 traps )( Megacatch Alpha - catch bag only)

The units are powered by 240v (converted to 12v) and then the 12volts run thru a 10m ( or 20m by request) cable to the unit ( like a normal 'safe'12v garden appliance). The 12volts power the lights ( pulsating and UV lights), fan and heater.

The 9th lure that the Slayer Pro & Slayer Ser. 4-gas uses, is a CO2 lure (simulated human breath....Thats why mosquitoes hang around us). However, all of our traps tested against 10 of our competitors proved to have superior catch rates (see test results)

The Megacatch Alpha is a simplified version of the Megacatch Ultra and Premier ( with less attractants of course)

The Slayer Series are an upgrade of the Megacatch Ultra & Premier

THE MOSQUITO SLAYER SYSTEM

The system connects to normal mains power through a 12-volt transformer (included free). A CO2 cylinder, (supplied separately) links to the trap via a 5-metre (16'), industrial-strength, low-pressure gas line. The Australian designed trap reduces mosquitoes and midges/sand flies breeding around your home, workplace or where animals are kept, by breaking the breeding cycle before the adult females lay their eggs.

While some other insect trapping devices have only one or two methods of attracting insects, the Bantix Mosquito Trap uses up to Ten scientifically proven attractants for mosquitoes and midges/sand flies.

TEN scientifically proven attractants
The Bantix Worldwide Mosquito Traps use the very same elements that attract mosquitoes and midges/sand flies to humans by luring them into its trap. Carbon dioxide gas is released over a special formulation of attractant solution. A small electric fan sends the aroma wafting through the air. The scent draws the insects towards the trap. As the insects get closer, they are attracted by spectrum and ultraviolet lights that draw them in toward the opening. When they enter, the fan blows them down into the tray of attractant solution where they drown ( Attractant solution not required when using a modulator). It's the combination and quantity of each of the attractants that make the Bantix Mosquito Trap an effective device in the control of adult female mosquitoes, midges and sand flies.

More Details - How each of the Ten Scientifically Proven Attractants work

(1.)
Carbon dioxide – (CO2)– Female mosquitoes host-seek using the carbon dioxide we breathe out.

(2.) Lactic acid – Produced as a result of vertebrate muscle metabolism in humans and animals and emitted through the skin.

(3.) Heat- Mosquitoes are drawn to our body heat.

(4.) Octenol – Produced naturally in human perspiration.

(5.) Moisture – Mosquitoes look for moisture in our perspiration.

(6.) Spectrum light – Different species of mosquitoes are drawn to different wavelengths of light

(7.) Ultraviolet light (UV) – A certain wavelength of UV attracts some species.

(8.) Sound – High frequency ‘feeding frenzy’ sound attracts female mosquitoes. Male mosquitos - now known to be able to carry infections and pass them on in the mating process to female mosquitos - are drawn by the "Wing Beating" sounds of the female mosquitos

(9.) Movement – Mosquitoes are attracted to movement

(10) Colour – Mosquitoes are attracted to dark colours.
